Montane Summer Spine Race 2026. An extremely long trek to kiss a wall.

Montane Summer Spine Race 2026 My recovery from the Swiss Peaks race went very quickly which was a good sign and I was keen to get going again. Basking in our previous successes doesn’t last for a long time unfortunately. Sadly though, the recovery from the shock of the prices of every day items in Switzerland took a while longer, this left the wife and I rather traumatised, but with determination, we got to a good place in the end. Next on the list of events was another jog along the Tour de Helvellyn in December 2025. It’s a race I’ve done a few times now and it’s very popular. A no frills event covering 40 ish miles in the Lake District. The race went well and I was beginning to think of my pacing and fuelling strategy for future upcoming adventures.
